How To Prepare For The New NAMA Show 2018

The NAMA Show 2018 The industry kicks off with an early NAMA Show in 2018. This year's event takes place March 21 to 23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada, and brings new products, speakers and networking opportunities galore. In order to get the most out of the event, do some advance preparation including developing a game plan that includes visiting the new show areas and attending some educational sessions.

Develop a show strategy

Part of attending with purpose includes being strategic. The annual show is a great opportunity to connect with industry leaders, manufacturers and distributors. Take the time to read the program and study the show room floor to plan out where to spend your time. Have a team with you? Divide and conquer; have a strategy for each of your key players. Decide when and where your time will be spent most beneficially.

What's new this year

In the past, the NAMA Show had the trademark walkway down the center of the floor, a wide walkway that led to the NAMA booth. This year, that won't be the case. Instead, booths will be interspersed to encourage engagement among attendees and exhibitors.

Peruse the zones

NAMA Central will be housed in the "Convenience Zone" on the trade show floor. This area will also play host to meeting rooms where attendees and exhibitors can meet without having to leave the show floor, and also the New Product Zone. The New Product Zone is a treat in itself; a new and exciting version of the product showcase, this is an interactive room full of products that can be looked at, picked up and touched. Attendees will walk through the room scanning products of interest and receive a print-out that shows where on the show floor the products are located. This intuitive experience gives users a more intimate look at products and creates a gateway for them to connect with the products' source on-demand.

Education big and small

Tuesday, March 20th will consist of Pre Conference Sessions; two morning half-day session options, an hour and a half networking lunch, and a half-day afternoon workshop. In the morning sessions, choose to attend either "Mastering Micro Markets," featuring a discussion on best practices for creating a dynamic workplace destination through micro market conversions, augmentations, and other industry trends. Or, the other morning session, "Unlock Your Company's Growth Potential," will solve the mystery of the sales process and discuss what is needed for a successful sales program. The afternoon session, "Fundamentals of Building and Running a Successful Convenience Services Business" will help you to understand all the "new" industry opportunities, technologies, and trends.

Regular sessions begin Wednesday morning. They start off with discussions on artificial intelligence (AI), family business strategies, tea and the NAMA Industry Census results. Next up are sessions on OCS profits, technology, loss prevention, consumer expectations and asset protection. These will be followed by sessions on sales, mobile payments, secure business, connected campus and legislation. Before the keynote speaker, there will be sessions on trends, PCI compliance, what's healthy and sexual harassment.

The keynote speakers this year are futurist Brian Solis and political analyst Matthew Dowd. They will be delivering two dynamic keynote talks in a side-by-side format. Get ready for an inspiring presentation by two distinct but interrelated perspectives! There will be one final session Thursday morning on nutrition and wellness trends. Make sure to check the schedule out as it is updated.

Along with the main presentations, there will also be a small stage area which will provide extended opportunities for learning about products, trends and best practices on the show floor. The mini "talks" that take place there will be beneficial for all attendees as industry wisdom is shared.

This might be the best Show yet...

With emerging technology proving its importance in the industry, now is the time to jump on board. The best way to do this is by learning what's new and how it can make a business run more smoothly and efficiently. The NAMA Show provides the industry's largest array of vending, OCS, micro market and convenience services trends. By crafting a thought-out trip, you can make this the most productive show of the year.
