Chicken Fried Steak made with RITZ Crackers

  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/8 tsp. dried oregano leaves
  • 1/8 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 3 oz. tenderized boneless beef round steak, (cube steak), 1/4 inch thick
  • 3 oz. whole milk
  • 3/4 oz. finely ground RITZ Crackers
  • 1/2 oz. cornstarch
  • 1/2 oz. rice flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 4 oz. vegetable oil


  • Combine  onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Sprinkle 3/4 tsp. of the seasoning mixture evenly onto each side of steak. Place milk in another bowl. Combine cracker crumbs, cornstarch, rice flour and baking powder in a third bowl.
  • Dredge  seasoned steak in cracker mixture, then in milk and coat again in cracker mixture.
  • Meanwhile,  heat oil in deep skillet to 350 F, making sure it will reach about 3/4ths of the way up the side of the steak.
  • Fry  steak 1-1/2 to 2 min. per side; drain well.

Make AheadRecipe can be made ahead of time. Prepare as directed up to 15 min. before serving. Keep warm on a rack on a sheet pan in 250 F oven.
